Managers in senior- and disability-serving organizations typically have clinical or specialized backgrounds that do not prepare them for management challenges created by changing demographics, rapidly evolving payment structures, and new forms of competition.
ELDER* Management Education was formed to address the management training needs across the continuum of care. We teach at Lasell College, a home of experiential learning.
Our faculty are at the top of their profession. They are CEOs, executives and experts in strategy, innovation, marketing, communication and change … and they work in high end senior living as well as organizations that serve our most frail citizens. Our faculty know your world: they started out as EMTs, nurses, aides, and dining specialists. They’ve been there.
Learn management with people from the field of aging and disability. Learn with ELDER Management Education.
*Experiential Learning For Disability and Eldercare Resources
Chief Learning Officer
A strategy consultant turned management education professional, founder and chief learning officer for E.L.D.E.R. Karla Todd has a passion for building better leaders in the Eldercare profession. By bringing E.L.D.E.R. and Lasell College together, she aims to transform how managers and supervisors in Eldercare learn leadership skills, bringing their organizations growth in the process.
The changing Eldercare world requires managers who can think strategically and bring a team along. This is a challenging environment for every Eldercare organization, and CEOs are telling us they need empowered team members who can help lead their organizations forward.
“Designing learning for the compassionate but complex field of Eldercare is so exciting; it’s about getting to the root of the problems and empowering people to solve them through professional education. Our mission is to bridge the gap between school and profession.”
